Differences between DC and AC fuses

Differences between DC and AC fusesThe main difference between DC and AC fuses lies in their ability to extinguish arcs. ACuses utilize thezero point of current to help extinguish the arc, while DC fuses require stronger capabilities to extinguishthe arc because DC current has no zero point.Material: The common fusible material for DC fuses is pure silver (for better conductivity andsectionalizing ability), while AC fuses mainly use oxygen-free high- copper as the fusible material. Bothuse high-purity silica sand to extinguish the arc.(1) When DC output power is used, its twosided DC system does not need to operate synchronously, while AC transmission must operate synchronously. When transmitting current over long distances, therewill be a significant phase difference between the two of the AC transmission system.(2) The loss of DC transmission in the event of a fault is much smaller than that of AC transmission. If twoAC systems are interconnected AC lines, then when a short circuit occurs in one system, the other side willhave to transmit the short-circuit current to the fault side.(3) In use, AC fuses cannot replace DC fuses, but DC can replace AC fuses.Notice: Please do not replace the fuse casually when choosing it, so as to avoid more serious damage.
