Selection & Temperature Derating Guide
When selecting a PCB fuse clip, first confirm the fuse size, system rated voltage and working current. For operating environments above 25℃, derate the current appropriately according to the temperature derating curve to ensure long-term reliability. At 85℃ ambient temperature, the usable current is about 40% of the rated value. Always match the fuse rating with the actual working current of the circuit, reserving a 1.25-1.5 times safety margin to avoid premature fuse failure or insufficient protection. For high-humidity and dust-prone environments, additional conformal coating or enclosed fuse holders are recommended.
Application Scenarios
- Switching power supplies, AC/DC adapters and charger circuits
- Household appliances and small electrical equipment control boards
- Industrial control instrumentation and automation equipment
- Communication equipment and network terminal devices
- LED lighting driver circuits
- Automotive electronic auxiliary systems
- Small power distribution and protection modules
Installation & Usage Notes
1. Select a matching 5x20mm glass fuse with appropriate current rating according to circuit protection requirements.
2. Ensure proper soldering quality during through-hole installation to avoid cold solder joints that cause increased contact resistance and overheating.
3. Do not use the fuse clip beyond its rated voltage and current range to prevent insulation breakdown and safety hazards.
4. Disconnect the power supply before replacing the fuse to avoid electric shock and short-circuit damage.
5. Insert the fuse fully into the clip to ensure reliable contact, preventing loosening and poor contact.
6. Store in a dry, dust-free and corrosion-free environment to prevent contact oxidation and insulation performance degradation.
