How to Choose the Right Fuse for Solar Inverter?

Solar inverters are core equipment in photovoltaic power generation systems. Choosing the right fuse is crucial to protect the inverter, solar modules and the entire circuit system.

First, determine the rated current. The fuse current should be slightly higher than the inverter’s normal working current, generally 1.25 times the rated input current, to avoid false fusing.

Second, pay attention to the voltage level. Solar system fuses are mostly DC type, and the rated voltage must be higher than the system DC voltage to ensure safe breaking.

Third, check the breaking capacity. The fuse must be able to withstand the maximum short-circuit current of the system, otherwise it may cause safety risks.

Fourth, consider the application environment. Outdoor photovoltaic systems need fuses and fuse holders with weather resistance, high temperature resistance and even waterproof performance.

Fifth, choose the right type and size. According to the installation space, choose between cylindrical fuses, bolt-on fuses or special PV fuses.
